H.E. Hussein Lootah Inaugurates the Seventh Edition of the Dubai Drink Technology Expo
“With more than 100 Companies from 20 Countries, and 7000 Expected Visitors & Participants”
H.E. Hussein Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, inaugurated today the seventh edition of the Dubai Drink Technology Expo DDTE (#DDTE2014), which is held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and shall continue for three days. H.E. Hussein Lootah was accompanied by a number of officials and specialists from the beverage technology industry in the UAE and the region.
H.E. Hussein Lootah took a tour in the exhibition area where he expressed his delight about the number and quality of the exhibiting companies. During his tour, he listened to various demonstrations about the latest trends in production machinery and equipment, process and quality control instruments, storage, transport and services associated with the beverage industry.
Commenting on the opening ceremony, H.E. Hussein Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: “I believe an event like DDTE will positively reflect on the beverage industry in the UAE. Exhibitions like DDTE offer great support for local companies and businesses by providing them with the latest technology and ideas, which in turn will play a great role in the development and improvement of the beverage industry.”
H.E. Hussein Lootah continued on saying: “From our side, and through various committees and in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Dubai Municipality works hard through its food control dept. and Dubai Central Lab, to introduce and educate all about the specifications needed for its approval to any exported type of food to the UAE. We are keen to guarantee that these local products abide with international standards, and we encourage local industries and provide them the necessary support.”
This year the Dubai Drink Technology Expo features the fourth Global Water & Beverage Technology Congress (GWBT) 2014. The Congress features a number of association key meetings, education sessions and B2B business meetings over 3 days, all addressing challenges in the water and beverage technology businesses. Beverage producers, wholesale and retail merchants, importers, dispensing systems, hotel groups, industrial consulting and supporting services providers, beverage associations, caterers and beverage industrial magazine and media are all attending the (GWBT).
From his side, Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, the Secretary General of the Arab Asian Beverage Alliance (AABA) said: “No one can miss the signs that the beverage industry in the region is growing rapidly year after year. This growth reflects positively on all stakeholders as the beverage industry supports many other dependent verticals. This, in turn, makes the beverage industry a crucial catalyst that contributes considerably to the economies of the region.”
Dr. Al Banna went on saying: “Dubai Drink Technology Expo plays an important role in providing great opportunities for suppliers and manufactures in the beverage industry. With every year, DDTE proves to form a cornerstone for the beverage industry in the region.”

The “Arab Asian Beverage Alliance” is keen to consider and develop the technical and investment aspects of the beverage industry and liquid food sectors in the GCC, Middle East and the World. Moreover, the AABA discuss the latest in the beverage industry and provides a platform for proven products and the latest in production machinery and equipment, process and quality control instruments, storage, transport and labeling.
The Dubai Drink Technology Expo this year is organized by Index conferences and Exhibitions Organization Est. and supported by International Society of Beverage Technology, Dubai Export Development Corporation, Jabel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Dubai’s Department of Economic Development, and the UAE Ministry of Economy.
